Sonora, CA — The end is near for the City of Sonora’s Redevelopment Agency.

The state is ending redevelopment agencies across the state effective February 1st, and the City Council will hear a staff report Tuesday night about the transition process.

City Administrator Tim Miller says Sonora typically receives around 400,000 a year in redevelopment funding. The City Council will also vote whether to call for a special meeting on January 30 to officially dissolve the City’s Redevelopment Agency.

In other business, the Council will hear a financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011.

The Council usually meets on Monday, but it will be Tuesday this week because of the Martin Luther King holiday.
