Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The man that allegedly robbed a business in the Junction Shopping Center at knifepoint faces a new charge, in addition to robbery.

It stems from an incident that occurred a few days before John Robert Olguin reportedly walked into the Columbia Candy Kitchen and got away with $160. To read the earlier story, click here. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 23-year-old now faces a charge of “assault on a person.” Sgt. Jeff Wilson reports that Olguin allegedly attacked a family member at a home in the days leading up to the robbery.

Olguin remains in Tuolumne County Jail.
