Former Sonora Football Players Back In Court

Sonora, CA– Two former Sonora High school football players who plead not guilty to separate alleged offenses committed in October are scheduled to have court appearances soon.


18-year-old Nate Gray pleaded not guilty to battery and other misdemeanors related to a bar fight on October 10th reported at Diamond Jim’s in Mi Wuk Village. Gray’s preliminary hearing in Tuolumne County Superior Court on January 7th has been continued to March 11th.


18-year-old Austin Thoburn pleaded not guilty to DUI related charges stemming from a rollover accident on October 18th on Racetrack Road in Jamestown. An unidentified juvenile sustained major injuries in the crash, according to the CHP report. Thoburn waived his right to a preliminary hearing and will now have a trial readiness conference on February 28th. Thoburn’s jury trial is scheduled for March 9th.
