New Classroom For Sierra Waldorf

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA– The Sierra Waldorf School in Jamestown will be getting a new classroom this week.

The recently purchased portable classroom formerly housed the ATCAA (Amador, Tuolumne Community Action Agency Head Start Pre-School) at Sonora Elementary School.

This Friday, the building will be delivered in three sections to Sierra Waldorf on Rawhide Road. Plans for the building include a small library, faculty office and an additional kindergarten classroom.

Sierrra Waldorf recently held its annual Rites of Spring auction and chose the new building as this year’s “Fund-A-Need.” They raised $29,000 for the purchase, moving and set-up expense in less than 10 minutes.

“It was amazing to watch the out-pouring of financial support for this project,” said Caroline Schirato, Development Director of Sierra Waldorf School. “Our school really needed this additional space so that we could accommodate the needs of our curriculum. There was no additional space for a school library with our current set-up.”
