Attempted Murder Suspects Appear In Court

Sonora, CA– Two men facing attempted murder charges appeared in Tuolumne County Superior Court yesterday.


According to the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office, 18-year-old Richard Souza from Santa Cruz and 22-year-old Travis Gredvig of Tracy remain in custody and did not enter a plea.


Both men are suspects in an assault that occurred at a home in the 23000 block of Oak View Drive in Twain Harte last Tuesday.


The Twain Harte victims, 45-year-old Colleen Ann Peck and 49-year-old Glen Lawrence Bannister, are still listed in critical condition at valley hospitals.


Both Souza and Gredvig are charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first degree of residential robbery for each victim involved in the attack. Additional charges for both men include three counts of grand theft with a firearm and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. zSouza is also charged with a car-jacking in Sonora.


Further arraignment for both Souza and Gredvig is scheduled for Friday, September 9th at 8:15 am in Department 3 of Tuolumne County Superior Court.


Souza remains in jail on $1 million bail. Gredvig’s bail has been set at $500,000.
