Two Injured In Mokelumne Hill
Mokelumne Hill, CA — Two people were transported to Sutter Amador Hospital following a Friday afternoon collision on Highway 49 near Mokelumne Hill.
The CHP says 66-year-old Sharon Smith of San Andreas was traveling south on Highway 49 in a Suburu when she drifted onto the curb, overcorrected, and collided head-on with a Ford F-150 driven by 52-year-old Heidi Beard-Jensen of Jamestown.
Smith suffered a broken right ankle and Beard-Jensen reported a possible broken wrist. Other passengers in the two vehicles were not injured. A third vehicle, driven by 29-year-old David Reimer of San Andreas, was also swiped by Smith’s Suburu. Reimer and his four-year-old passenger were not injured.
The collision occurred during the three o’clock hour. Rain may have played a factor in the accident.
