Tuolumne County To Host Senior Winter Games
The 2010 California Senior Winter Games, March 11 – 14, will be hosted at Dodge Ridge in Pinecrest, CA.
Michael Gahagen, the Director of the California Senior Winter Games was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Men and women ages 50+ are encouraged to participate in various events including skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing. Seniors throughout California will be able to enjoy four days of outdoor healthy fitness and competitive fun.
The California Senior Games Association (CSGA) was formed in 1992 to meet the National Senior Games Association’s (NSGA) mandate that requires each state to have one organization responsible for coordinating and/or overseeing their qualifying State Championship Games. The various California Games, in operation at that time, formed the initial CSGA State organization. The CSGA Board is responsible for all the Senior Games conducted in the state of California. In addition to overseeing the State Championships, the CSGA provides resources and training for its member organizations and promotes the development of new games throughout California.
The National Senior Games Association is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for seniors through education, fitness and sports. Through its programs, the NSGA assists seniors in achieving greater value and quality in their lives by staying healthy, active and fit.
If you would like to participate you can call Amber Jenquin at (209) 965 – 3474.
