Weekend Fires
Sonora, CA – Firefighters stayed busy over the weekend extinguishing small fires across the Mother Lode.
There was a two acre fire Saturday morning near the Lake Don Pedro Marina. The fire started around 9:30am along Bonds Flat Road. The cause is unknown.
Saturday at 4pm, a small fire was started by people using fireworks along O’Byrnes Ferry Road near the Lake Tulloch Resort. Multiple agencies responded to extinguish the blaze.
Saturday at 10:15pm, three spot fires were started in the area of Hautley Lane in Jenny Lind. The incidents are under investigation.
Sunday morning during the 11 o’clock hour, a one acre fire was contained in the area of New Melones Lake near the Angels Creek Boat Launch.
Sunday at 8:07pm, there was a spot fire started along Highway 4 and Parrotts Ferry Road. The cause is unknown.
