Man Jumps Off Lover’s Leap
Knights Ferry, CA– A man from Escalon jumped off a 200 foot cliff also known as “Lover’s Leap” outside of Knights Ferry this morning.
According to Chief Lee Winton from the Oakdale Rural Fire District, multiple agencies responded to the 1:25 am incident.
“We had response from the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Office, the CHP and multiple fire agencies in Stanislaus county as well as an engine company from Cal Fire out of the Calaveras/Tuolumne unit.”
Winton says the 25-year-old man sustained multiple injuries to his back and neck but was conscious and alert when contacted by rescue personnel and transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
“Lover’s Leap” is located on Highway 108, one mile west of Kennedy Road in Stanislaus County.
