Lowe’s Opens Its Doors

The Sonora Lowe’s Home Improvement Center opened this morning. The facility has 94,000 sq. ft. of retail sales space, with an adjacent garden center.
Today was a soft opening, as Store Manager Heather Farris says the official Grand Opening is scheduled for 10am on Thursday. At that time there will be a “Board Cutting Ceremony.”
The Lowe’s project was debated in the City Council chambers and courtrooms for over seven years before construction began this past May. Lowe’s employs approximately 120 people. It is located at 120 Old Wards Ferry Road.
