Bear Valley Mountain Reports Largest Crowds in Five Years

Sponsored by:

Despite a weak economy, Bear Valley Mountain reported the largest crowds in nearly five years over the recent Holiday season.

Rosie Sundell, the Director of Marketing of Bear Valley Mountain, said that the timing of a few feet of new snow going into the two week Holiday period, was a contributing factor in bringing out the record crowds.

Sundell was Wednesday morning´s KVML Newsmaker of the Day.

Sundell said, “I think that the closeness of our resort, our price point and the numerous new attractions such as the Family Lodge and Sno-Cat tours, all helped to attract this year´s large crowds. It´s amazing what snow, sun and a Holiday period can do for business.”

Is Sundell concerned about the recent mild weather and lack of new snow going into this three day Holiday (Martin Luther King Jr Day) weekend?

“At this point, we´re really not that concerned. Bear Valley Mountain is 100% open. This weekend our skiers and snowboarders will be enjoying both the sunshine and the special events that we´ve planned for the Holiday.” Sundell answered.

The Newsmaker of the Day can be heard each weekday morning at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47 on AM-1450 KVML.
