Jamestown Victim Pronounced Dead In Modesto
Sonora, CA — CHP Officer Tom Wills has confirmed that 66 year old Virginia Plummer of Jamestown died earlier this morning at the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto from the injuries she suffered Monday afternoon when hit by a drunk driver in Jamestown at 3:55.
Plummer was attempting to cross Main Street when she was struck by a 2003 GMC pickup driven by 64 year Gary Phalen also of Jamestown. She was lifeflighted to Modesto.
Charges against Phalen will be determined by the District Attorney’s office. He has already been charged with felony driving under the influence and he may also be charged with manslaughter.
The marks the second traffic related fatality of the year in Tuolumne County.
