Stewardship Council Selects Tuolumne County For Kennedy Meadows

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Stewardship Council Board of Directors has officially selected Tuolumne County as the top choice to become the fee title holder for the Kennedy Meadows property.

The decision was made at a meeting Wednesday afternoon in Modesto. The Mother Lode Land Trust would become the easement holder and the Tuolumne County Resource Conservation District (RCD) would be a partner in the management and operation of conservation practices.

RCD Chairperson Kirk Ford says, “I think we are all pretty happy with the recommendation of the Stewardship Council and their planning committee, and are looking forward to whatever the next page turns out be.”

If the Stewardship Council, County and Mother Lode Land Trust can come to a mutual agreement, the final approval would then come from PG&E and the Public Utilities Commission.
