Marijuana Eradicated In Yosemite

Yosemite, CA — 4,735 marijuana plants were eradicated in an isolated area of Yosemite National Park late last week.
Items removed from the grow area included nearly 400 lbs. of fertilizer, 3,000 ft. of irrigation hose and 200 lbs. of human trash. Park officials say the human footprint created by these operations is a direct threat to wildlife, such as bears, which are attracted to the food and other objects that are found in the area.
The eradication was carried out by Yosemite Rangers and National Park Service Agents, with assistance from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
