McMahon Faces Multiple Charges In Hit And Run Fatality

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office has levied multiple charges against 30 year old Nicholas Brian McMahon of Bluebell Ave East relating to the October 19 hit and run traffic death of 45 year old Stacy Kay Stone of Sonora.

According to the complaint McMahon has been charged with Driving Under The Influence Causing Injury Or Death, a violation of Section 23153(a) of the California Vehicle Code.

In addition McMahon has been charged with a felony of Driving With A .08 Percent Blood Alcohol Causing Injury Or Death, a violation of Section 23153 (b) of the California Vehicle Code.

Finally McMahon has been charged with Leaving The Scene Of A Fatal Accident, a violation of Section 20002 (b)(2) of the California Vehicle Code.

McMahon has pleaded not guilty to those charges.

Wednesday, October 21 at approximately 3:15pm McMahon turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Office whereby he was immediately interviewed by CHP investigators. He was then arrested and booked into the County Jail.

McMahon was arraigned in Superior Court this afternoon. His next appearance (preliminary hearing) is scheduled for Friday, November 6 at 8:15am in Department Three.

McMahon was driving a 2001 Chevy pickup at the time of the 8:30pm accident on Tuolumne Rd. east of Terrace Drive. Stone’s death marked the 19th traffic related fatality in the county this year.
