Investigation Ongoing Into Deadly Tuolumne Rd. Hit And Run
Sonora, CA — 30-year-old Nicholas Brian McMahon has pleaded not guilty to charges filed against him related to the October 19th hit and run death of 45-year-old Stacy Kay Stone on Tuolumne Rd.
"It is an ongoing investigation," says Donald Segerstrom, Tuolumne County District Attorney. "The defendant, as I understand it, surrendered himself to authorities on Wednesday after 5pm. Therefore we had to file the complaint within 48 court hours, which was on Monday."
McMahon is charged with driving under the influence causing bodily death or injury and leaving the scene of an accident.
Segerstrom adds, "The driving under the influence charge was based on witness statements that were given to the Highway Patrol and based on the statement of the defendant that he gave to the Highway Patrol."
A preliminary hearing is set for November 6th at 8:15am in Tuolumne County Superior Court. Anyone with information related to the incident should contact the Jamestown CHP Office at 984-3944.
