Arrests Made After Explosive Devices Found In Valley Springs
San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department has arrested three Valley Springs residents on suspicion of making homemade explosive devices.
The series of arrests started Tuesday morning when deputies attempted to contact 25-year-old Vernon Keith Moore near his Sequoia Street home. Moore immediately fled on foot and was eventually apprehended by the Sheriff’s Department. He was in possession of four grams of methamphetamine, brass knuckles and a pipe bomb was found near the arrest location. Moore was booked into Calaveras County Jail. He already had outstanding charges of vandalism, robbery, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and child endangerment.
A search warrant was then obtained Wednesday for a home that Moore was known to frequent and officials found bomb making materials and explosive devices.
36-year-old Cameron Patelzick and his 36-year-old wife Brandy Felts-Patezick were arrested in connection. A 13-year-old boy lives with the parents at the residence.
The investigation is ongoing.
