Winter Storm Watch Issued Sunday Night Into Monday
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Sunday night through Monday afternoon.
Snow levels could fall to as low as 1000 to 1700 feet on Monday.
The Motherlode’s foothills could see five to ten inches of snow. Up to two feet of snow is possible in the Sierra Nevada.
Temperatures could fall into the low 20’s by Monday night.
Winds could gust from forty to fifty mph.
A much warmer but even more powerful storm system will bring very heavy rain and mountain snow beginning Wednesday night. The snow levels by then will be around 6000 feet.
Highway 120 is closed at Crane Flat. Highway 108 is closed at Kennedy Meadows. Highway 4 is closed at the Mt. Reba turnoff.
