Jackson Rancheria Opens New Public Safety Building

Jackson, CA — Friday marked the official ceremonial opening of the new Jackson Rancheria Public Safety Building in Amador County.

The 33,500 square foot, two story building will house the Rancheria´s police, fire and network operations.

The building is unique in that it is targeting a LEED Silver Rating as defined by the U.S. Green Building Council. The building includes energy efficient mechanical systems that incorporate under floor air distribution for overall building efficiency, control, comfort and wire management, water cooled air handlers with air cooled condensing units as backup for the network operations center and energy efficient under floor fan powered air transfer boxes.

In addition the new facility houses energy efficient lighting and controls, skylights to capture additional daylighting in key building spaces, a thorough building commissioning process to assure that all building mechanical and electrical systems are operating at peak efficiency and a redundant propane powered backup generator.

Tribal Chairperson Margaret Hughes Dalton cut the ceremonial gold ribbon in a two o´clock ceremony at the main entrance of the new facility.
