Drill Teaches Students The Results Of Drunk Driving

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne, Ca — Local emergency crews took part in an “Every 15 Minutes” drill at Summerville High School Thursday.

It was a mock exercise in which a student was killed by a fellow student who was driving drunk. The nationwide program is to recognize that every 15 minutes someone dies in an alcohol related accident.

The full simulation involves the body of the deceased student driven to the funeral home and the responsible driver placed under arrest.

Taking part were Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, Tuolumne County Ambulance, CHP, Tuolumne County Fire and other agencies.

The simulation will continue through Friday with a school assembly in which the students involved make a return to school.

A similar drill is also underway at Bret Harte High School.
