Nelson Captured Following Search In Sonora
Sonora, Ca — After an extensive search today, 32-year-old Richard Patrick Nelson is safely behind bars.
This morning the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office was alerted that the wanted suspect and an unidentified female accomplice were at Andy´s True Value located on Mono Way in Sonora. The female was captured and arrested when deputies arrived on scene, but Nelson was able to escape.
Deputies then searched for Nelson in the areas of Greenley Rd., Fir Dr., Pine Rd. and Oak Rd., but were not able to find the suspect.
At approximately 3:30pm a caller who had heard about the search during a radio broadcast alerted the Sheriff´s Office that the suspect had run across Hwy 108 and toward a creek near Lime Kiln Rd.
Deputies were dispatched to the area, and after a half hour chase, Nelson was arrested and taken into custody.
Many of the details surrounding the case are still unavailable, so more information is expected to be released later. The Sheriff´s Office does not immediately have information regarding where Nelson and the female accomplice are from or what charges they are facing.
