City Of Sonora Awards Half Million Dollar Contract

Sonora, CA — Monday evening at the final City Council meeting for July a contract worth $517,005 was awarded Ford Construction, Inc. to complete the Shaws Flat Storm Drain Phase Two Project.
According to City Administrator Greg Applegate the final stage of the project will include widening the shoulders of Shaws Flat Rd. from north of the high school to Saratoga Rd.
Applegate labels the construction a safety project. Initially it will eliminate the sheeting of rain water during the winter months. In addition by widening the shoulders of the road immediately north of the high school motorists should enjoy a greater degree of driving comfort.
Applegate is hopeful construction can commence by mid to late August, 2008.
