Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies Shut Down Two Marijuana Grows

San Andreas, CA — Tuesday Calaveras County Sheriff´s deputies shut down two marijuana grows and arrested three people.

With a search warrant in hand the deputies discovered 301 mature marijuana plants at a Sheep Ranch Rd. residence. Deputies arrested the property owner, 42 year old Jack Strange of Galt, and booked him into the County Jail with bail set at $2.5 million.

Later Tuesday deputies seized 1,500 marijuana plants in a remote area off Camp Nine Rd. in Vallecito. Arrested were 28 year old Melchor Valencia and 27 year old Jamie Mendoza of San Jose on charges of conspiracy and cultivation of marijuana. Both subjects had immigration holds placed on them. They were also booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
