Copperopolis Town Square Continues To Take Shape
Copperopolis, CA – The Castle & Cooke developed Copperopolis Town Square continues to take shape off Little John Road.
Official groundbreaking ceremonies for the Town Square took place on April 22, 2006. Since that time local subcontractors have completed the gazebo and the park area.
According to Project Director Doug Evans the Town Square will feature 22 buildings with 233,000 square feet. Initial plans call for 65,000 square feet to be devoted to residential properties, 90,000 square feet for retail, 40,000 square feet for office space and approximately 22,000 square feet for restaurants.
Evans admits it was difficult to lease space at the outset because Castle & Cooke could only present a conceptual idea. Now that several buildings have been completed interested individuals have been able to gain a clear view of the Town Square and its amenities.
As far as an opening date is concerned, Evans says the first major event will be entitled Hot August Nights and it´s set for the second weekend of the month. A formal grand opening is planned for the spring of 2008.
Castle & Cooke has also purchased the property surrounding the 25 acre Town Square for future development.
