Board To Appoint Parks Commission
San Andreas, CA — When the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday it will consider who to appoint to the newly formed Parks and Recreation Commission.
The commission was the recommendation of a task force that met for six months to come up with a plan to address the county´s recreation needs. Other recommendations included that the county establish a Parks and Recreation Agency and hire a parks manager. The commission will provide guidance to the agency´s staff.
The parks commission will consist of five residents appointed by their respective supervisors, one member from the Calaveras County Water District and one member from the San Andreas Parks and Recreation District.
Also, Tuesday the board will discuss a minute order regarding legal access requirements. This is a continued item from a previous meeting where the board directed staff to meet with the public to come up with a solution.
The board meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the county Government Center in San Andreas.
