CHP Releases Name Of Murphys Grade Rd. Fatality

Murphys, Ca — 22-year-old Eric Jarvie of Arnold has been identified as the individual who was fatally injured in this morning´s rollover accident on Murphys Grade Rd.

According to a CHP report, 20 year old Kevin Vargson of Hathaway Pines was driving at a high rate of speed in an eastbound direction when he failed to negotiate a curve. The 1997 Saturn Sedan proceeded onto a dirt shoulder and then over an embankment where it rolled several times.

Vargson was wearing a seat belt but still suffered major injuries. He was life-flighted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

The two passengers were not wearing their seat belts. 20 year old Nathan Burch of Arnold suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Mark Twain-St. Joseph´s Hospital. Jarvie was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP is investigating if alcohol played a role in the accident. It was reported at 1:30am.
