Oakland Resident Killed In Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA — A 38 year old Oakland resident driving a 2001 Chevy 1500 pickup was killed early Sunday morning on Rock River Rd. south of Green Springs Rd.
The unidentified individual allowed his vehicle to travel off the west edge of the roadway striking a dirt and rock embankment causing it to overturn at 1:10am.
The driver was not wearing his seatbelt. He was subsequently ejected and procunced dead by Cal Fire personnel.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the cause of this accident.
This marks the 13th Tuolumne County traffic related fatality this year.
