Poor Air Quality Forces Change Of Venue; Bret Harte Will Open Football Season At Home
Angels Camp, Ca — The Bret Harte High School varsity football team was scheduled to open up its season on the road tonight at Livingston.
Principal Dean Way says things have changed. This morning he received a call from officials at Livingston saying that there was no way they could have the game because of the poor air quality that is a result of recent fires in Northern California.
“Instead of losing the game, we tried to come up with a way that we could play the game at our place in Angels Camp,” says Way. “First I had to get an okay from our air board, which I did at one o´clock.”
Tonight´s game will be varsity only. The kickoff is set for 5:30pm in Angels Camp.
