WINTER STORM WARNING SET FOR 8PM
Sacramento, CA — According to the California Office of Emergency Services a winter storm warning remains in effect from 8pm Monday until 10pm Tuesday.
This storm will have widespread gusty winds and an abundance of precipitation. Two to three feet of new snow may fall from this storm over much of the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada by Tuesday evening.
Snow levels are expected to be near 4,500 feet with wind gusts up to 50mph in the higher passes. Snowfall is expected to intensify overnight becoming very heavy on Tuesday. A foot of new snow is possible overnight with an additional two feet of new snow on Tuesday.
Travel into the Sierra Nevada region is strongly discouraged late this evening and during the entire day Tuesday.
