Read Across America Program In Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County educators are asking for the public´s help with celebrating Dr.
Seuss´s Birthday on March 2nd. The Read Across America Program was brought to Tuolumne County two years ago and Superintendent of Tuolumne County Schools Joe Silva says the goal is to have community members read to students Thursday March 2nd.
Silva believes that students who are read to by adults other than their teachers are more likely to read for pleasure in the future.
Program organizer Lenore Shively says adults can be matched with the schools, grades, and classes of their choice. Those interested in getting involved are encouraged to contact Shively at Lenore Shively
