Election Filing Deadline Today

Sonora, CA — June 6th is primary election day but today is the day that candidates for races in which no incumbent is running must register with the elections office of the Tuolumne County Clerk´s office.
Those races would include the sheriff-coroner´s position. The contestants include Sheriff´s Captain Jim Earll, Sergeant Jim Mele and Investigator Tom Memmer.
And five candidates have qualified for the District 3 Supervisor´s race which became vacant when Jim Peterson died in October. Those five candidates are are Charles Kiel, Philip Balbuena, Ronald Hamilton, Teri Murrison and Robert Fulcher.
Ken Caetano is running unopposed for the Assessor Recorder´s position.
