Seatbelts Save Teens Lives In Rollover Accident Monday

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Two teens are recovering from moderate injuries after being medi-flighted to Modesto after a car accident Monday night.

The California Highway Patrol says 17-year-old Richard Taylor was driving a Ford Mustang on Merced Falls Road when the car veered off the roadway.

CHP reports indicate the car hit a barbed wire fence and then overturned. Responding officers had to cut off the roof of the car in order to get Taylor and his 18-year-old passenger out.

Both Taylor and Alex Baucom were taken by helicopter to Modesto hospitals for treatment. CHP officials say the two were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
