Pickets To Greet Tuolumne County Board Of Supervisors

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will be receiving a greeting this morning as they enter the County Building for their weekly meeting.

That greeting will come from picketers who will be urging the county to pass the contract that has been brought before them by the Deputy Sheriffs Association (or D.S.A.).

While the D.S.A. is not threatening a strike, members and their families want the “zipper clause” to remain in the new contract. This clause states that any issues not specifically addressed in the new contract will be treated as they have been historically.

Acting Sheriff Lee Sanford has publicly stated that he wants the clause removed because it would force management to negotiate any questioned issus rather than having the ability to make an arbitrary decision.
