2006 Primary Election Set For Tuesday
Sonora, CA — Tomorrow is the day to get out and vote … it´s the 2006 primary.
Races include the Tuolumne County District 2 Supervisor´s showdown between incumbent Paolo Maffei and Larry Sidmore and the vacant District 3 Supervisors´ position being contested by Terri Murrison, Philip Balbuena, Robert Fulcher, Charles Kiel and Ronald Hamilton.
Four candidates are running for the Sheriff-Coronor position; that group includes Jim Earll, Jim Mele, Tom Memmer and Richard D´Hondt.
And then there is Measure P which, if passed, would impose an additional one-half of 1% tax on retail sales within the incorporated and unicorporated areas of Tuolumne County. That amount would be equally split between the Sheriff´s Department and the County Fire Fund.
In Calaveras County, Incumbent Merita Callaway will face off against Travis Lauterbach and Jake Wallace for the District Three Supervisor´s position.
In the District Five Supervisor´s race, Incumbent Victoria Erickson will be contested by Michael McDaniel and Russell Thomas.
