Mosquitoes Harassing Visitors In Yosemite
Yosemite National Park, CA — Although there have been no reported cases of the West Nile Virus in the Mother Lode this year, residents should still be on alert.
Officials say visitors to Yosemite National Park need to take insect repellant with them due to the limited supply at the general stores.
Reports indicate that due to the wet spring, campers and hikers above 4,000 feet are being swarmed by mosquitoes, since there is less sun exposure to dry up the standing water.
Visitors are advised to wear long sleeve shirts and pants whenever possible, and always use insect repellent containing DEET.
