Local Economic Concerns
Sonora, CA — The Sonora Area Foundation expresses concern for the local economy with the Rim Fire, the government shutdown, a lack of snow and the continuation of drought conditions.
Executive Director of the Sonora Area Foundation, Ed Wyllie, speaks about how everyone can help Tuolumne County’s residents and businesses by getting involved locally in his new blog.
Wyllie has been a County resident for nearly 58 years, he says; “It’s an opportune time to consider the events we have been through and how we may be able to help ourselves and our neighbors as we look ahead.
Wyllie notes that the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce is emphasizing the idea of shoping local. He blogs about the many benefits of shopping local and offers the idea of “Conserve Local” and “Give Local”. Due to the drought water conservation is encouraged by the Tuolumne Utilities District and charitable giving is the purpose of the Sonora Area Foundation.
Wyllie says “Locally generated solutions to our local needs will provide the best path for all of us.”
