Atwater Motorcyclist Dies In The Mother Lode

Jamestown, CA — 53 year old Timmy J. Bergstrom of Atwater was killed Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:45 when he lost control of his 1990 Harley Davidson motorcycle while approaching the intersection of Leisure Drive and Hwy 108.
Traveling at an undetermined rate of speed, Bergstrom failed to safely negotiate a sweeping left turn riding his bike off the right side of the highway. The motorcycle flipped over ejecting Bergstrom who succumbed to his injuries at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Bergstrom was wearing a protective helmet.
Hwy 108 was closed at the collision scene and traffic was detoured around the area for approximately one hour.
