Sonora, CA — Two Sonora women were arrested for felony theft after allegedly pushing a full shopping cart out of the local Walmart store in the Crossroads Shopping Center on Sanguinetti Road.
While on foot at the store, staff notified Sonora Police officers of what they called “a push out” on the east side of the building by two suspects identified as 55-year-old April Crosby and 56-year-old Jolie Esposito. The items inside the cart were not disclosed by police, who reported that the alleged shoplifters got into a white Kia Sorento and left the area, heading towards Jamba Juice.
Minutes later, a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the vehicle at South Washington and Highway 108 and pulled it over. Esposito was handcuffed for felony theft with two or more prior convictions, conspiracy to commit a crime, and unlawful possession of pepper spray/tear gas. Crosby was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting and conspiracy to commit a crime.
