Two Calaveras Murder Trials Begin Next Week

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA– Two murder trials are set to begin in Calaveras County next week but they both might not take place.

The trial of Patricia Ordway, the Arnold housekeeper accused of murdering her boss two years ago, will start Thursday.

On the same day Anthony Mann will stand trial for vehicular manslaughter. Mann, who was 17 at the time, was driving drunk when his car left Blagen Road, hit a tree and overturned in a ditch in May 2004. His brother Ernest and Steven Ferrari were in the car and perished.

A Calaveras Superior Court clerk says both trials cannot take place at the same time since there are not enough judges or courtrooms.

She says one of the trials will have to be delayed but both are still scheduled on the calendar.
