UC Merced Freshman Enrollment Above Expectations

Merced, CA — Officials from the University of California at Merced say freshman enrollment is exceeding expectations for the school´s first year of operation.
The school released its admissions office report yesterday afternoon. Administrators say they were expecting 800 students to enroll for the fall semester which begins September 6th.
The report says 867 students have so far filed letters of intent to register.
Officials have set a goal of 1000 students for the first term, to include transfers and graduate students.
