The Fee For Vehicle Registration Will Stay As Is For The Time Being

The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted 3 to 2 in favor of keeping the Fee at $4.

Concerned community members voiced their opinions about the rise in cost Tuesday Morning at the Board Meeting. Some people don´t feel comfortable paying extra for their vehicles when they are not sure where the money will go.

Supervisor Mark Thornton is opposed to the fee and says although the people of Tuolumne County are very generous and willing to fund solutions to problems, they need to know what they are paying for.

Board Chair Paolo Maffei voted to keep the fee instated because he feels that the money would be best spent on fixing roads in the County.

As soon as a list is compiled of possible avenues to take regarding the revenue, a more permanent vote will be made.
