Forecasters Warn Residents To Brace For Stifling Heat

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Weather forecasters are warning Motherlode residents of extremely hot weather on the way.

The National Weather Service says a very strong high pressure system is building over the area and moving in from the desert southwest. That means the area across the central valley and into the Sierra foothills will see the hottest temperatures so far this season.

The warmest temperatures are expected to reach as high as 108 degrees in some portions of the Motherlode.

Forecasters say they expect the hot weather to extend through the weekend.

Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids and take a rest when feeling overheated and fatigued.
