CHP Advises Residents To Slow Down In Fog
Sonora, CA — Thick fog in the Jamestown area is prompting the California Highway Patrol to enforce strict driving laws in relation to weather.
Although fog is expected in the Central Valley, it has been creeping higher and higher into the Mother Lode.
Law enforcement officials say there are two basic rules to driving safely in dense fog, reduce your speed, keep your vehicle´s headlights on low beam and turn the fog lights on if the car has them.
Experts say headlights on high beam do not help in the fog. The lights bounce off the fog creating a wall of reflected light. Some have described it like someone driving at you with their high beams on.
