A Jamestown Woman Killed In Valley Springs Crash

Valley Springs, CA – A fatal crash in Valley Springs took the life of a Jamestown woman.

It happened last week on Monday (05/18/2026) around 7:12 p.m. on Baldwin Street south of Highway 26 in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County. The CHP reports that 63-year-old Brian Johnson was driving an eastbound Ford sedan toward Baldwin Street from the Good Samaritan Church parking lot with his passenger, 62-year-old Kathleen Johnson, both from Jackson. Coming northbound on Baldwin Street was 53-year-old Terry Vanoverloop of Jamestown, driving a Honda sedan toward the church with a passenger, 48-year-old Brandie Boulware of Mountain Ranch.

CHP spokesperson Officer Jeremy Cooper relayed that Johnson turned onto Baldwin Street in a northerly direction directly into the path of Vanoverloop. The force of the collision caused Vanoverloop’s sedan to overturn onto the east shoulder, ejecting Vanoverloop, who was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries.

Johnson’s sedan came to rest, on its wheels, on the west shoulder of Baldwin Street. Cooper stated that this crash remains under investigation and that alcohol or drugs are not suspected.
