Update: Logging Truck Crash Stalls Traffic On Calaveras County Hwy 4

Update at 1:20 p.m.: Caltrans updates that all lanes are now open on Highway 4 after a logging truck overturned at the Upper Moran Road intersection, scattering logs across the roadway. They report that the logs, mostly blocking the eastbound lane, have been cleared, and traffic is running smoothly again.

Original post at 12:20 p.m.: Arnold, CA—First responders are on the scene of a logging truck that crashed on Highway 4 in the Arnold area of Calaveras County, where timber is scattered across the highway.

Caltrans District 10 relayed, “SR-4 is currently blocked in both directions at Moran Road due to an overturned logging truck. No ETO (estimated time of opening). Expect delays and seek alternate routes.”

CHP officers are directing traffic, which is getting backed up. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
