2004’s First Baby For Calaveras County

William Anthony Melville became Calaveras County´s and Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital´s first baby of 2004! William was born January 5, 2004 at 9:09 p.m. His proud parents are Vicki and Ronald Melville of Valley Springs. Mrs. Melville is a teacher at Jenny Lind School. The boy tipped the scales at 9 pounds, 5.7 ounces, and was 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of birth. Dr. Petre Motiu delivered the baby.

The proud parents were showered with gifts and gift baskets from the Hospital, the Hospital Auxiliary, Calaveras Lumber, Kelly´s Drug Store, Blooms & Things, House of Flowers, Treat´s General Store, Middleton´s, and Angels Food Market.

Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital is a not-for-profit, 48-bed general acute care district hospital serving all of Calaveras County. Established in 1951 and centrally located in San Andreas, the hospital is affiliated with Catholic Healthcare West. The County is further supported by four Family Medical Centers located in Arnold, Angels Camp, Valley Springs and Copperopolis.
