Two Mountain Passes Reopen, One Remains Closed

Tuolumne County, CA – Two of the mountain passes reopen today, while one remains closed.

Caltrans will reopen Highway 108 Sonora Pass at noon, and visitors are once again traveling along Highway 120 Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park. Park officials reported that motorists can expect 15-minute delays on weekdays east of Crane Flat, and there is no overnight parking along the road or in parking lots.

Caltrans relayed that the gate at Kennedy Meadows on Highway 108 will reopen at noon today. They noted, “Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will display information regarding the pass closures for motorists. Caltrans urges motorists not to pass snow-removal equipment on the highway, to use caution, and to watch for icy road surfaces overnight and in the early morning.”

Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass remains closed. Central Sierra Broadcasting contacted Caltrans officials regarding its closure status. Spokesperson Brian Hooker relayed, “Ebbetts Pass will remain closed today and possibly through the weekend due to road conditions and expected weather.”
