Privacy advocates today will kick off a campaign to put a financial privacy measure on California´s ballot next March. The advocates say current privacy laws leave Californians vulnerable to identity theft, aggressive marketing practices and fraud. The initiative would require financial institutions to get permission from customers before selling their financial information.
