Tuolumne General Presents Financial Plan
Tuolumne County Supervisors have been presented with a plan to improve the financial position of Tuolumne General Hospital.
Hospital Administrator Barry Woerman presented the plan this afternoon. He and the hospital´s Chief Financial Officer, Kent Johnson said the hospital must improve its bottom line.
Among other things, the plan includes improvements to accounting practices, expansion of long term care, adding Dental services, and staff reductions. The plan also calls for adding more permanent health care providers at the Primary Care Clinic.
Tuolumne General has borrowed about six million dollars from the county and used almost 11 million in general fund money over the past six years.
If supervisors approve this plan, Tuolumne General will still face a projected one million dollar shortfall. The county would have to make up the difference.
