Crashing Ice Chunk From Plane

Sponsored by:

That big chunk of ice that fell through the roof of a home in Santa Cruz was from an airplane.

A Federal Aviation Administration investigator met with the family that lives in the home yesterday. KION TV reports that the FAA confirmed the ice came off a plane, but it´s not clear what airline it was from. The basketball-sized piece of ice crashed through the roof of the Zesati family´s home on Sunday night. No one was hurt, but the ice narrowly missed Holly Zesati and her 13-year-old daughter,

Monique. The FAA says the ice is what´s called “blue ice.” It´s caused by leaks in airplane bathrooms.
